The Forever Purge Movie Review
The Forever Purge is a 2021 action crime film directed by Everardo Valerio Gout and starring Ana de la Reguera and Tenoch Huerta. It’s one of the worst Purge movies.

The United States of America is plunged into a state of chaos and confusion when a group of marauders decide that the purge does not stop. An immigrant family struggles to survive and escape. This franchise has always lacked in subtlety and sophistication, but this entry is the worst so far as it hits you on the head with every single line of dialogue.
This is a Hollywood movie, so it is always going to be against Trump, but this film is not just openly against him and half of the country’s population effectively, but it’s so on-the-nose in its treatment of the toxic political landscape of the country as it continued to regurgitate the same talking points we’ve heard countless times before without adding anything new to the conversation.
The movie is also once again devoid of horror thrills. This is definitely now just another action franchise, though the crime elements are quite abundant here as well. I did not care for the plot at all, but taking the action to Texas at least led to a more interesting, memorable setting. The cinematography, score and editing are quite good here.

I also found the action pretty well executed and kinetic. However, The Forever Purge was so preoccupied with action set pieces and constant violence that it failed to develop any of its characters. Ana de la Reguera was quite solid here and Tenoch Huerta was very good in the best role of the bunch, but again the characters are thinly disguised stand-ins for minorities and racists. The treatment of racism was as subtle as an earthquake.
The Forever Purge is the worst Purge movie. It has a fresh new setting, some solid performances and fine action, but it failed to develop any of its characters and the plot was bare-bones. The treatment of its political themes was as subtle as an earthquake with poor dialogue and stereotypical characters.
My Rating – 2.5
