Which Is Witch is a 1949 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very solid flick.
Bugs Bunny is in Africa where he is being hunted by a witch doctor. Eventually, the doctor is swallowed by a crocodile, but the bunny saves him and makes a crocodile bag out of the creature. Yes, that ending steals the show for sure how incredibly dark and horrific it is. It also shows Bugs at his strongest and most badass which was fun to witness.
I also liked the witch doctor, especially his design, but the voice and height reminded me way too much of Yosemite Sam. The character himself is a lot of fun and the setting is amusing, but of course Africa is portrayed in an immensely racist, dated fashion which was the usual practice for the studio back in this period.
Which Is Witch certainly is racist, but it’s also a lot of fun thanks to a nice villain and a crazy, dark ending.
