Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories #4 Review

Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories #4 Review

The fourth issue of Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories was published in 1941. This was an inferior issue to the last one.

The ghost storyline was concluded in this comic and it simply did not live up to the previous comic. The story started off so interestingly, but it ended up somewhat disappointingly. It all ended with a whimper as it lacked the fantastical elements and the interesting twists and turns that I would have expected from this story.

Other stories range from forgettable to solid, including the Donald one-page comics and the written pieces. Mickey Mouse in Search of Jungle Treasure is the big story of this comic, one that took up the majority of its page count. And it’s a solid, but flawed one. I appreciated the illustration work done on it. The African setting was well realized and the story was suitably adventurous, but overly dated and old-fashioned in its depiction of this continent and the animals.

The fourth issue of Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories is a solid, but forgettable one. It has one pretty solid adventure story, but the rest of it was not great.

My Rating – 3.5
