Up a Tree (1955)

Up a Tree Review
Up a Tree is a 1955 animated short film produced by Disney. It’s a very well constructed and entertaining flick.
Donald is a lumberjack, but the tree he has to chop down turns out to be Chip and Dale’s home. They try their best to stop him, but after they fail to do so, they get their sweet revenge by destroying his house. This movie was so well executed across the board. Not only is the score quite strong, but the animation is reliably polished, gorgeous and meticulously detailed. The pacing is also top-notch.
There is this gag in the middle where the two somehow are holding the tree from not falling down, which was a hilarious case of cartoon logics. I didn’t know what to think of the fact that he did manage to cut their tree down eventually, but the revenge that they got was sweet for sure. This is not the best Chip and Dale short as it’s not the most original one, but it worked because it did everything right. The dialogue is fantastic too with the fanny line being instantly memorable and so funny.
