Tree’s a Crowd Review

Tree’s a Crowd Review

Tree’s a Crowd is a 1958 animated short film from the Woody Woodpecker series. It is a fine short.

Woody takes a trip to an arboretum where all birds are welcome except woodpeckers. This is another forgettable Woody short that is best seen for its animation, which is polished, artistic and quite painterly even. It’s beautiful to look at for sure. But the plot was quite weak.

The antagonist in this short is rather uninteresting. The scenarios range from serviceable to somewhat memorable, but for the most part it’s all been there, done that. The second half became significantly better, but the first half left a lot to be desired in its lack of interesting gags and ideas.

Tree’s a Crowd has great animation and a solid second half, but the first half is weak and the gags are mostly forgettable.

My Rating – 3.6
