Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast is a 2014 animated fantasy film from Disneytoon Studios. It’s the sixth and final entry in the Tinker Bell franchise.

This is actually the best entry in the Disney Fairies series. It is familiar for sure and certainly many movies about animals, especially ‘How to Train Your Dragon’, have done this storyline much better before, but still the strong environmental message, animal rights theme and the emphasis on protecting and caring for the ancient were all wonderful to witness here.
It’s a film that is a great, important watch for little girls, one that has the power to teach them some valuable lessons about nature. On the other hand, the fairies have make-up and perfect hairstyles while in action scenes once again, which is to be expected, but still it bothered me here much more than before somehow.
Fawn here is the protagonist while Tink is once again in the background. It’s interesting how she became less and less important with each new entry in this franchise. The creature himself is wonderful, visually memorable and super endearing. Other characters are less memorable, but the group dynamic is solid here.

The score is fantastic and the animation is actually mesmerizing. There are scenes here that are truly dazzling in imagery, especially the night sky parts. The final stretch of the movie is its best one as it’s so contemplative and unexpectedly deep that it really caught me off-guard, but the first half paled in comparison to the last as it was overly typical in storytelling and not that exciting.
