Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue Movie Review
Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is a 2010 animated film from Disneytoon Studios. It is the third entry in this franchise and the best one so far.

Well, this one was different and a welcome departure from the previous two movies. Although the second movie was an improvement upon the first, I still disliked both of those mediocrities. This third entry is different for transporting the story from Pixie Hollow to the regular world, and that was very refreshing.
I know that this story is something that we have seen so many times before – a fairy befriends a human girl, but her father captures animals for science, so they need to escape that faith and change his mind. However, although clichéd storytelling is very problematic, here it mostly worked as this is the type of story that continues to work as it has many great elements that were here solidly executed.
Lizzy is somewhat annoying to be honest. This British girl is not that well developed and is at times even a bit frustrating, but the friendship that develops between her and Tink is great and the heart of the movie. Tink is more memorable herself this time around while the father character, although typical, is very well realized. Others such as Vidia were underutilized.
The Great Fairy Rescue is also different for featuring much more polished animation. It’s still not great, but it looks terrific for the cheap direct-to-video standards, though the character animation continues to plague this franchise as it’s quite weak.

The soundtrack is also improved from before. Again, it’s your standard girly soundtrack for young girls, but some songs were pretty good, especially the number How to Believe. That one I really liked. The movie is sweet, if unimpressive in plot, and its heart is in the right place.
