There They Go-Go-Go (1956)
There They Go-Go-Go Review
There They Go-Go-Go is a 1956 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a familiar, but solid Road Runner short.
This movie is one of those examples where a cartoon is elevated with a terrific ending to greater heights. That finale with that line – In heaven’s name, what am I doing? – was absolutely hilarious. It came exactly at a time when I wondered that because to push that huge boulder standing beneath it was even dumber than usual for the coyote, so the fact that he acknowledged it made it a wonderful case of meta humor that I just adored.
The rest of the cartoon is just fine. The wagon train cart was the best bit along with that fire scene where the bird literally made fire with his enormous speed. That was cool and memorable. Other segments ranged from been there, done that to only okay with hardly any standing out from the rest of the series’ shorts.
