The Turn-Tale Wolf (1952)
The Turn-Tale Wolf Review
The Turn-Tale Wolf is a 1952 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a weaker movie.
Now when I say weaker, I mean weaker for this particular time period in Warner Bros. history. That’s because this flick would obviously be pretty good in the thirties. It’s polished in animation, particularly well voiced in its entirety and it has its fun scenes for sure. It’s an amusing, solid little Wolf-centered flick.
However, the characterization and the dialogue are far from great or as sophisticated as the other entries in the series usually are at this point. The action is solid, but the humor is sorely lacking without a particularly hilarious moment nowhere at sight.
The Turn-Tale Wolf is a blast from the past. It’s an amusing, well voiced little flick, but for 1952, the company should have been doing better.
