The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild Movie Review
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is a 2022 animated family adventure comedy film directed by John C. Donkin and starring Simon Pegg. It’s such a mediocre flick.

Buck, Crash, and Eddy try to keep the Lost World from being overtaken by dinosaurs in this first movie for the franchise that was made after Disney acquired Fox and Blue Sky Studios. Most were angry with Disney’s decisions to shut down this studio, but even more angry when they realized that this franchise will go on under them. It was a terrible choice agreeably and this product’s inferior quality shows that.
The movie is just bad, plain and simple. Although not really worse than ‘Collision Course’ and ‘Continental Drift’, it is just as bad as those two entries. This series simply should have been discontinued long ago and now in particular I see no point in going on when even Scrat isn’t here for some odd copyright reasons. His absence is definitely felt.
I also missed the regular crew. Yes, Sid and others are here, but only briefly and that really bothered me. The movie focusing on the most annoying supporting characters in the series spelled doom from the start, and although I actually found it more enjoyable than I feared, I still did not care for either of these guys to be honest.
Crash and Eddie have some funny moments and admittedly the movie can be amusing in its humor, but nowhere near the quality of the first couple of movies. Adventures of Buck Wild is aptly made as it focuses heavily on this newly introduced character and I simply do not care for this Indiana Jones knock off. He is annoyingly loud and obnoxious.

The entire movie functions as an Indiana Jones story for kids and it does succeed in that area at times as the adventurous elements are solid, but they took way too many worldbuilding elements from ‘Dawn of the Dinosaurs’, making this entry particularly uninspired and rehashed. The animation is also a downgrade from the previous films, though it is still colorful and somewhat charming.
