The Greener Yard is a 1949 animated short film produced by Disney. It is a pretty forgettable flick.

Bootle Beetle tells the young beetle how in his youth he infiltrated Donald’s garden, which began to persecute him constantly to exterminate him. After the last incredible film starring this little beetle guy, this movie most definitely feels like an afterthought. It would have been much better had they released it earlier than this. The animation is strong and the tone is charming, but the plot is slight.

Bootle Beetle basically got a movie for himself here, but we’ve seen him in similar situations before and those films were much better. The framing device with the kid did not appeal to me at all as it was quite lazy. Donald was also seriously sidelined and not at all memorable.

The Greener Yard is well made and suitably charming, but it felt like an afterthought in its overall plot.
