Sufferin’ Cats Review

Sufferin’ Cats Review

Sufferin’ Cats is a 1961 animated short film from the Woody Woodpecker series. It is a forgettable flick.

Woody Woodpecker has been a source of aggravating annoyance to a certain householder due to Woody’s pecking the antenna of a TV set. Then this odd blue cat is introduced and he becomes a rival of Woody’s throughout the rest of the short. I liked this cat. I found his voice appealing and his personality vibrant. The two had a fun dynamic for sure.

But the movie did not go anywhere with this premise. The changing of the colors was intriguing undeniably, but the short lacked humor and interesting scenarios for the most part. The animation is solid, but Woody was forgettable and this cat stole the movie from him unfortunately.

Sufferin’ Cats has a solid cat character for Woody’s rival, but otherwise the flick is thinly plotted and not as funny as it should have been.

My Rating – 3.4
