Slingshot 6 7/8 Review

Slingshot 6 7/8 is a 1951 animated short film from the Woody Woodpecker series. It is a weaker flick.

Out west, tenderfoot Woody uses his slingshot against Indian Buzz Buzzard in a shooting contest. This is a very odd and dated flick that makes fun of Native Americans in a very bad way. There is also a sense of fatigue with its gags that range from mediocre to barely passable.

You would think that a film that pits Woody against both of his rivals would be great, but unfortunately you’d be mistaken as Buzz is only okay while Wally was entirely forgettable. The movie is actually very well animated and featuring a solid atmosphere to it, but the plot and humor were lacking.

Slingshot 6 7/8 has solid animation, but a distinct lack of a good plot or memorable gags.
