Romp in a Swamp Review

Romp in a Swamp Review

Romp in a Swamp is a 1959 animated short film from the Woody Woodpecker series. It is a weak flick.

Woody tricks Ali Gator into a swampland chase in this lackluster Woody Woodpecker short that is familiar to the previous entries starring this alligator. The animation is fine and some of the action is solid. The swamp setting was also well utilized.

But the movie failed to included any strong or memorable gags. It was lacking in comedy and dialogue. The gator character is just too forgettable when compared to the classic rivals of yesteryear. Woody really needed a better antagonist in this period.

Romp in a Swamp has a pretty good use of its setting, but the lack of strong gags and scenarios negatively impacted it overall.

My Rating – 3.3
