Riff Raffy Daffy ReviewRiff Raffy Daffy Review

Riff Raffy Daffy is a 1948 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very amusing flick.

This movie follows a homeless Daffy who goes from place to place in search of a place to sleep, but Porky is constantly breathing down his neck. He is the policeman here and during this period sleeping outside was forbidden by law. This is thus a serious subject matter, but it’s dealt with very comically of course.

Given the strength of this premise, the ending and the entire film should have been even more memorable, but overall I loved it. Porky has rarely been better and he fits this somewhat different, more negative policeman role really well. And Daffy himself is downright hilarious in his manipulations and clever dialogue. The animation is great and most of the situations are a lot of fun.

Riff Raffy Daffy is not only instantly strong in its awesome premise, but also funny in its effective execution.

My Rating – 4.2
