Rabbit Transit (1947)
Rabbit Transit Review
Rabbit Transit is a 1947 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a hilarious cartoon.
Cecil Turtle and Bugs Bunny again race in this cartoon. This is unfortunately the third and last outing with the turtle which is such a shame as all three are so great and I really find him to be an underrated character. He’s the rare guy who really got the best of Bugs and that atypical approach really worked in the favor of this film too. Nothing here is really new, but everything works so well.
The beginning is not as memorable, but the middle is great and the ending is so good where Bugs won, but got arrested which was a fun mix. Cecil here is ridiculously smart, conniving and a big cheater and couple that with the same-behaving Bugs and you’ve got one very brisk, constantly inventive cartoon in terms of its perfectly executed action and also humor which is very sophisticated and subtle at times (the toll bridge scene is outstanding).
Rabbit Transit is not only perfectly executed in terms of the action, but it’s also frequently very funny leading to a successful, sadly last installment for Cecil Turtle.
