Put-Put Troubles Review

Put-Put Troubles Review

Put-Put Troubles is a 1940 animated short film from the Donald Duck series. It is a pretty forgettable short.

Donald and Pluto go sailing, but the day doesn’t end as well as they hoped. You see, this is one of those shorts that rely on just one gag to carry it through the finish line. This one has Pluto fighting a spring and Donald fighting the boat’s motor. The two had nothing in common with each other and the ending did not connect them well at all.

Donald’s troubles with the motor must be relatable for anyone who’s ever driven a boat or any vehicle for that matter. His frustrations led to some pretty amusing lines and moments. Pluto also had some fine scenes, but for the most part his section was lackluster. The movie is well animated and endearing enough, but lacking the energy and conviction of the best Donald Duck shorts.

Put-Put Troubles has a weak plot and an inferior ending, but Donald’s moments are at least quite amusing with some solid gags and lines.

My Rating – 3.3
