Porky’s Railroad Review

Porky’s Railroad is a 1937 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a disappointing short.

I’ve seen this type of short many times before. Porky is on a road, train this time around, and the hilarity ensues with a lot of action. I really did not care for the plot here as it is non-existent almost and the film is overlong and never particularly exciting or funny as the gags are lacking.

The animation is excellent and the action is very well executed admittedly. The film looks and sounds fine, but definitely it is the case of style over substance. I did, however, love Porky Pig here as he is immensely likable and sweet here and a great protagonist. I just wish that he would get better quality shorts.

Porky’s Railroad is well animated and Porky is great, but the plot is lacking and the film is nether funny nor entertaining.
