Porky’s Building (1937)
Porky’s Building Review
Porky’s Building is a 1937 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a standard procedure.
Yes, this is a very forgettable short that is admittedly very well made, but not unlike a number of cartoons I’ve seen before. So it basically follows a building of a building competition and the outcome is expected. That ending was definitely fun, but cliched.
I liked some of the animation in here such as the buildings being built and growing, that was very competently done and the designs were solid. Porky Pig is not as memorable here, but he is still as likable and as heroic as usual. I found the first half of this cartoon entirely uninspired and dull, but the second half is entertaining and more memorable. But still it remains unoriginal.
Porky’s Building is well animated, but very typical and unoriginal in terms of storytelling.
