Porky’s Baseball Broadcast is a 1940 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a weak, dull sports entry.
I do not care about sports and I certainly do not care about baseball so this was definitely not my cup of tea. Whenever any cartoon from the thirties employs this sport in their storytelling, I am bound to be bored which is again the case here. Nothing in terms of plot was even remotely interesting to me and the gags were not good at all.
The only good thing about this film is Porky Pig and he is really good and charming per usual. Finally he got a cartoon of his own as he appears quite a lot here and I do expect him to start appearing more pretty soon. The animation is solid, but nothing too remarkable and the score is also very forgettable. The runtime is too long as well.
Porky’s Baseball Broadcast has a lot of Porky in it which is good, but the plot and gags are very weak.
