Pink Valiant (1968)
Pink Valiant Review
Pink Valiant is a 1968 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
The Pink Panther has to rescue a princess kidnapped by the Black Knight (the Little Man), but first must tame his uncooperative horse. Starting on a more negative note, even more could and should have been done with the Middle Ages time period. The action is good, but far from great. Otherwise, the flick is so good, in particular in how it utilizes the castle, the dragon, the princess and all of the archetypal elements of this time period quite well.
But the biggest reason why it is so good lies in the horse. Yes, this reluctant, headstrong horse stole the show from Pink himself and even the Little Man. Both are good, but the horse is hilarious how uncooperative it is, and his abundant laughter is the funniest thing in the entire movie. I hope he returns soon.
Pink Valiant is such a good medieval flick in the series with the stubborn horse stealing the show from everyone else.
