Pink of the Litter is a 1967 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
The Pink Panther is caught littering in the town of Litterburg and as punishment, he has to clean up all of the litter in the entire town. That’s an absurd premise, but it works because it’s so unique and crazy in conceit. I loved the animation here and this town is so well portrayed and oh so memorable.
Pink is great here, and even the Little Man appears in one scene. I really liked the atmosphere to the short in particular, but I felt that more could have been done with this premise, especially in terms of storytelling and humor as it’s lacking in those areas quite a bit unfortunately.
Pink of the Litter is gloriously animated and it has a superb premise to it, but the execution overall left a lot to be desired.
