Pink-A-Rella (1969)
Pink-A-Rella is a 1969 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
This is basically the Pink Panther version of the Cinderella story, only the time period is the present and the prince is an Elvis-type character. I did not like him all that much and I found the witch not that well used at all, though the ending is certainly cute.
But the movie is at its best in the first half. I found that part of the adaptation stupendous. Pink is so wonderful here as he really wants to help this poor girl who is very well designed. I found some gags with the transformations very clever and observational. The animation is splendid with the use of color and effects being stupendous.
Pink-A-Rella started the year of 1969 on a really strong foot for this series. The storytelling is strong and the animation is top-notch.
