Patient Porky is a 1940 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very rehashed entry.

So basically this is a rehashed entry from much better and much funnier ‘The Daffy Doc’ from two years before. That cartoon is so much more effective not only for it was the first and original, but also because it had Daffy Duck. This one has a cat who wants to dissect Porky and he isn’t as great, but is still definitely solid and amusing. Porky is great as well and I liked that ending also.

The film is oddly put together as Porky Pig doesn’t arrive on the screen well into the film and is basically there for only the third act, though the most important act. The previous segments provide a look at various animal hospital patients and I like that spot-gag nature to it with the highlight being the bunny reproduction joke which was so funny.

Patient Porky definitely is oddly put together and rehashed, but it still works as a rather solid and enjoyable spot-gag cartoon.
