Leghorn Swoggled (1951)
Leghorn Swoggled Review
Leghorn Swoggled is a 1951 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a hilarious flick.
Henery wants to trap Foghorn Leghorn for his dinner, and the barnyard dog says he will help Henery to catch Foghorn on one condition – that Henery find him a bone. Although I personally found the roles of the dog and especially the cat here rather minor, the dog still got that great moment in that terrific finale.
But this is per usual Foghorn’s and Henery’s short to shine. The former is very amusing in his manipulations, but eventually rather easily outsmarted in a hilarious fashion. The latter is once again absolutely hysterical with his one-liners and huge persistence. The little guy is just such a classic, amazing creation who continues to put a smile on my face. The dialogue exchange between the two is awesome here.
Leghorn Swoggled definitely is entertaining, but particularly funny in dialogue with Foghorn and Henery both being hilarious here.
