JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (Diamond Is Unbreakable) Season 3 Review
The third season of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is called Diamond Is Unbreakable and it’s pretty much the worst of the three seasons by far. Such a major disappointment in terms of quality.

Jotaro Kujo tracks down Josuke Higashikata, the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar, to help him in seeking out a magical bow and arrow that grants people Stand powers. Along the way, Josuke and his friends discover that a Stand-using serial killer is on the loose in their hometown of Morioh and only they can stop him. And that’s all happening eleven years after ‘Stardust Crusaders’.
That plot on paper sounds nice, but in execution it’s not particularly engaging and the season is never as fun as the previous ones were. The first one was more intriguing and the second one was much more entertaining. Here, we get a couple of interesting, amusing animal-centric episodes which I enjoyed as animals having the Stand was an intriguing concept, but other episodes were for the most part uninteresting.
I lost interest in this show because it became overly lazy and typical in terms of storytelling as this season introduces nothing new in terms of the mythology and it felt way too similar to the second season in terms of the Stand, their journey and the video game structure to it. But having it similarly done the second time meant less excitement this time around.
And the characters aren’t all that interesting to be honest. Josuke is fine and Jotaro is quite good once again. I also liked a couple of villains here and there, but most did not leave a lasting impression. I liked that alien character though as he was interesting. And again, I really liked the role of the animals in this season.

Diamond Is Unbreakable is very well animated once again and it’s technically polished across the board with some solid action too and a pretty good score. I just wish that the characterization, storytelling and its pacing were better as the episodes were quite dull.
In the end, the show ended on a really weak note in my opinion. And that’s a shame as I loved the previous two seasons. This third one has its merits for sure, but it’s just too similar, boring and forgettable to be enjoyed more.
Worst Episodes: Atom Heart Father and Yukako Yamagishi Dreams of Cinderella.
Best Episodes: Jotaro Kujo Meet Josuke Higishikata and Let’s Go Hunting.
My Rating – 3.2
