It’s Hummer Time (1950)
It’s Hummer Time Review
It’s Hummer Time is a 1950 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid, but odd flick.
And by odd I mean that it doesn’t star Tweety nor Sylvester, but a cat and bird who are so similar to them which was distracting. The same goes for the dog. I never liked this idea of introducing new characters instead of just doing a short with already established, iconic creations. And thus the characterization here suffered as a result.
However, the movie is so amusing in its scenarios and particularly some lines of dialogue that it ended up being a pretty solid flick in its own right. I really liked that moment where they quoted Tweety, that was great. I also liked the animation, most of the action too, and the interactions between these characters is also strong.
It’s Hummer Time is weird, but it has its moments, especially in terms of action and dialogue.
