It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 14 Review
The fourteenth season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is another terrific one. This show has not succumbed in quality so far, and I am loving it.

“I am gay.
Actually, I am really, really gay.
But not for you necessarily.
I just like a lot of your qualities as a man“

The Gang Gets Romantic isn’t the best episode of this season, but it does get things going very smoothly as it instantly reminded me of how great the gang’s interactions still are. As a hostel worker myself, I found the jokes about the hostel, and the cheap Europeans coming to it incredibly funny, and so truthful.
Thunder Gun 4: Maximum Cool could have been even funnier, but still it’s a very timely episode which deals with the PC agenda in Hollywood in a hilarious fashion through this very funny meeting where the gang gives their incompetent reviews to this cheesy flick.
Dee Day might be the highlight of this season. Yes, usually these holiday episodes when one gang member gets to enjoy themselves properly can easily produce instant classic episodes, and this is no exception. Dee has the opportunity to shine here, and she does that with a particularly amazing final scene where she made fools out of them all in glorious fashion. The bird watching scene is the funniest for sure.
The Gang Chokes isn’t the best in all of the characters’ subplots, but it is an essential episode of Sunny that finally deals with the repercussions of them all being so incredibly self-centered, and frankly horrible people. When Frank almost chokes, he finally realizes that, and he goes to live with the Waiter whom he eventually destroys in a brutal, hilarious fashion.

The Gang Texts is another favorite of mine. This is such a brilliant concept episode that deals with one day at the zoo for the gang where everyone texts constantly. It deals very cleverly and meticulously with the concept of texting, and what each emoji, and sentence possibly means. Everybody is great here with the highlight being Mac whose disturbing dependence on Dennis has proven to be the funniest backbone of this entire season. The final scene is quite sweet too.
The Janitor Always Mops Twice started the much inferior second half of this season unfortunately. All of the previous episodes are great for the most part, but from now on, most are just good. This one is a very detailed, very authentic noir parody, but it isn’t the funniest episode when it comes to its blunted humor.
The Gang Solves Global Warming is one of the weakest episodes of the season which has its moments for sure, but overall it wasn’t nearly as funny as I would have liked personally. Paddy’s Has a Jumper benefits from Dennis’ psychopathic tendencies and a clever tackling of artificial intelligence, but otherwise it’s repetitive and not particularly funny once again.

A Woman’s Right to Chop is a highly humorous episode that deals with the women’s right to have a shorter haircut without the men shaming them for it. I found the guys’ persistence to stop Dee from shortening her hair hilarious. I wish I could say the same for Waiting for Big Mo, but this episode is such a weak finale that is not funny at all, and although poignant in a way, it’s too slow and uneventful to make a bigger impact.
In the end, this is another great season of Sunny. Yes, it has its weaker episodes, but most are truly terrific with the best episodes making me laugh from beginning to end. The dynamic between the cast is still great, and the status quo remains unchanged thankfully so.
Worst Episodes: Paddy’s Has a Jumper and Waiting for Big Mo.
Best Episodes: Dee Day, The Gang Texts and A Woman’s Right to Chop.
