Hot Noon or 12 O’Clock for Sure Review

Hot Noon or 12 O’Clock for Sure is a 1953 animated short film from the Woody Woodpecker series. It is a pretty fun flick.

Woody Woodpecker is the small town sheriff who must face the feared gunslinger Buzz Buzzard. The movie is obviously based on the titular western classic and it does a fine job of parodying it within the confines of a Woody Woodpecker cartoon. The animation is stellar and the sound and score are terrific too.

There is a lot of fun to be had with the duel between Buzz and Woody. It featured cartoony physics and a silly, irreverent take on a western duel that made it quite charming. I just wished that Buzz was more competent here and that the first half was more interesting as it is the second half where all of the action is.

Hot Noon or 12 O’Clock for Sure is a fun western parody romp with a particularly strong second half.

My Rating – 3.8
