Hare Do (1949)
Hare Do Review
Hare Do is a 1949 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a very good flick.
Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd are the stars here. He chases the bunny in the theater setting. I found the beginning and the ending themselves quite weaker in comparison to the stellar second act where all the best action occurs. So the theater is where the movie shines and I wanted more from it as it’s a fast cartoon that flows by very quickly.
The chases are great, and some of the gags are truly terrific. The main one is the bathroom scene where Bugs manipulated the situation gloriously. I also loved how well the setting was utilized and especially the action in it. The animation and action are both stellar, and both characters are splendid in this installment.
Hare Do is one of the better entries in the series from this period with a greatly utilized setting and well used stars.
