Grin and Bear It

Grin and Bear It Review

Grin and Bear It is a 1954 animated short film produced by Disney. It’s a pretty weak flick.

Donald Duck arrives at Brownstone National Park, where Humphrey tries to get Donald’s ham. This is a very odd flick that features an uninteresting new character that was underdeveloped and forgettable. The movie is well animated and Donald is reliably endearing, but the movie lacks in the humor and plot department.

The bears here were somewhat amusing, but nowhere near as fun as the movie think that they are. There is a distinct lack of memorable gags and scenarios here that bothered me throughout. The premise itself was not solid enough to sustain an entire short no matter how well executed it is.

Grin and Bear It is well made, but forgettable and uninteresting. It’s an odd movie that didn’t quite work.

My Rating – 3.3
