Glee Season 4 Review
The fourth season of Glee is another solid, standard season of this show which changed its characters and settings a bit here, but thankfully not to the worse.

“You are my first love
and I want more than anything…
for you to be my last“

At first, it took me a while to get used to these changes, but eventually I became used to all the new characters as well as the NYC setting. Let’s touch upon each of the characters. Artie continues to be grounded and realistic. And in my opinion Blaine continues to be very annoying. The fact that he wants to propose to Kurt and the two aren’t even together anymore was simply ridiculous and I do hope Kurt quickly turns him down in the next season.
Speaking of Kurt, he continues to be one of the more interesting characters on the show, and he is a great fit for New York of course, but that entire bit with Sarah Jessica Parker employing and helping him was silly and unrealistic way too much.
Rachel continues to rise in her career which was well executed as the season also showcased how smug and full of herself she can be at times. I loved the emphasis on their relationship here quite a bit. And Santana I absolutely loved here. She is by far the funniest character of this season, and her living together with these two in the loft was a terrific choice.
Sam got some solid episodes, and his bromance with Blaine was well portrayed. Quinn being bi-curious with Santana was also quite interesting. Finn becoming a teacher was a good fit for him, but that whole drama between him and Will was tired. Will continues to be flat and uninteresting, and his marriage with Emma was overplayed here.

I found Ryder somewhat annoying, but the revelation that the person who was cat fishing him is Unique is an interesting one that I hope the show explores this well in the next season. Britanny is so funny, and her and Santana overtook the comedy part of the show from Sue who unfortunately got fired in this season in a very lackluster manner. Jake and Marley themselves are too pretty, too good and too boring to make a bigger impact.
Overall, this season of Glee had its very weak episodes and some characters aren’t as interesting, but most of the plot points I bought into quickly and in particular the new settings and dynamics worked out well for the season.
Worst Episodes: Glee, Actually and Sadie Hawkins.
Best Episodes: The Break Up and Glease.
