Glee Season 2 Review
The second season of Glee is actually an improvement upon its predecessor thanks to some very interesting developments and character progressions.

Yes, the first half of this season is immensely weak and some episodes there are even mediocre which prevented the entire season from ever being close to great, but the later half is so much better with some great episodes and a couple of really strong developments.
Kurt continues to be a force to be reckoned with and that’s in no small part thanks to a truly terrific acting performance from Chris Colfer. He’s by far the finest talent out of the teens themselves and he steals the show whenever he’s on screen. I find Blaine rather bland and boring and he deserves a more interesting boyfriend than him. The highlight was the prom nasty surprise which he owned in one hell of a scene.
Rachel is okay. She continues to be very likable in some episodes, but also very annoying in others and that duality comes both as her strength and to her detriment. The Finn/Rachel/Quinn triangle is rather annoying of course as I always hate those triangles, but all three characters individually are solid, though far from the most interesting people here.
Mercedes is sidelined, but some of her moments are great. Brittany is absolutely hilarious with her new show and I loved those moments which were some of the funniest of the season. She really became so much better during this season. And of course Santana is probably the MVP of the season. From a bland popular girl to a closeted lesbian, she became so much more interesting with that reveal and I loved all of her sequences.

Puckerman is sidelined and Emma too unfortunately, but Will continues to be likable and relatable, though again the emphasis is less on him this time around and more on the kids. As for Sue, she became less cartoony during this season and I am glad for that. She’s still hilarious with her very funny lines of dialogue, but she also got that very emotional funeral episode where her beloved sister died and that was so touching to witness.
Overall, I liked this second Glee season quite a bit despite it having taken way too long to properly kick off and some characters being sorely underused. But those characters that are great are excellent (Kurt, Santana, Brittany) and I am looking forward to their journeys continuing. The musical elements are solid and at times inspired, but the comedy continues to be the better part of the show.
Worst Episodes: Britney/Brittany and The Rocky Horror Glee Show.
Best Episodes: Sexy and Prom Queen.
