Fit to Be Tied (1952)
Fit to Be Tied Review
Fit to Be Tied is a 1952 animated short that is the 69th Tom and Jerry cartoon. It is such a good, stupendous sequel.
This entry is the sequel to 1944’s ‘The Bodyguard‘ and I have to say that it totally succeeds as a sequel not only because it brings back the quality of an already great short, but also exceeds it as it truly is a better film. The plot is once again great, but it is the action that is really the highlight here. I absolutely loved each and every scenario in Fit to Be Tied with the exception of the ending which I found to be subpar to the rest of the picture.
The humor is magnificent. I laughed more than a couple of times. The highlight for me was the sequence where Tom beats Spike because not only does that rarely happens at all, but it was also executed in such a funny, really meticulous fashion with each beating being priceless. This is the most entertaining Tom and Jerry cartoon in years and it is such a glorious return to form for the series.
I like The Bodyguard better mostly because of Tom winning but also because it’s more beautifully drawn
I also like The Vanishing Duck better than The Invisible Mouse for those 2 reasons.
