Draftee Daffy (1945)
Draftee Daffy Review
Draftee Daffy is a 1945 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very weak entry.
This is thankfully the very last World War II entry, at least before the end of the war. But it is still one of the weakest unfortunately. Daffy is as energetic and as cool as always and the animation and score are both pretty good. But other than those solid aspects, the movie is disappointing.
It’s one of those films which are too timely and thus not timeless at all. The movie is dated and particularly difficult to understand nowadays, at least I was personally lost with those references so the jokes flew over my head quite easily. The characters and the overall plot and pacing are troublesome too.
Draftee Daffy looks good and it has solid Daffy, but it’s otherwise dated, dull and way too timely for its own sake.
