Daffy Dilly (1948)
Daffy Dilly Review
Daffy Dilly is a 1948 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a very entertaining cartoon.
It follows Daffy who goes out to make a tycoon laugh on a bet to get some great cash from the rich man. After everything fails, he slips and falls which finally makes the man cry. That was an expected, but still very funny ending that worked out so well and is the highlight of the movie.
I also liked the beginning, and I found not only the tycoon great, but also Daffy who hasn’t gotten for himself some great movies recently, but here he’s absolutely terrific, very amusing and quite funny in his many lines of dialogue. The movie could have been better had it had a better second act and more memorable action, but it’s good enough nonetheless.
Daffy Dilly isn’t amazing or anything, but it’s good enough with hilarious Daffy and a great ending too.
