Chow Hound (1951)
Chow Hound Review
Chow Hound is a 1951 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is an odd flick.
A gluttonous dog sends his unwilling ally, a frightened cat, to pose as the pet of various masters and give him the cat’s dinners. This is such a strange movie that I do not know what to think of it really. On the one hand, I did admire its originality, and the character interactions and scenarios and crazy and diverse.
But on the other hand, all of these characters do not get proper development, and are quite rushed in their portrayal. I liked the voices, and some of the action, but most of it wasn’t all that funny, and the movie was structurally unappealing and very oddly put together.
Chow Hound is a strange film which is original and different, but overly messy, odd and not all that amusing.
