Life Is a Circus, Charlie Brown (1980)
Life Is a Circus, Charlie Brown Review
Life Is a Circus, Charlie Brown is a 1980 animated television special and the 20th entry in the Peanuts series. It is a charming, but ultimately slight special.
Snoopy goes to the circus where he performs and falls in love with another dog named Fifi. This is a typical Snoopy-oriented special for better and for worse. It is always great to watch Snoopy as he really is such a fun character and this special is very charming and sweet at times with the romance being particularly good, but it is also very slow and lacking humor.
This is never as funny as a Peanuts special should be. It is also problematic because it doesn’t have any other character besides Snoopy, but at least Charlie Brown is put to some good use here and there and it was nice to learn about his history and how he got the dog in the first place. Everything about this special seems fine and it is fine, but it is also never particularly inspired or great and it is just a middling effort for the series.
