Camping Out ReviewCamping Out Review

Camping Out is a 1934 Mickey Mouse cartoon. It is a solid entry.

This is an archetypal Disney short which I’ve seen many times before. I am talking about the plot of course. Mickey, Minnie, Horace and Clarabelle are camping, but a swarm of mosquitoes attacks them. The group eventually manages to outsmart the little pests. Yes, it is a familiar short which doesn’t utilize the main mouse duo all too well and lacks in terms of the humor, but Clarabelle is quite memorable here.

The cartoon lacks in humor, but is strong in terms of the energy and pacing as it is entertaining and brisk. The animation is also pretty good, although the design of the mosquitoes is typical. I found the ending the highlight of the film as it was clever and very well constructed, not to mention highly amusing.

Camping Out is a solid entry in the series with a familiar plot, but pretty good animation and action.

My Rating – 3.7
