Belle Boys Review

Belle Boys is a 1953 animated short film from the Woody Woodpecker series. It is a pretty solid flick.

Woody and Buzz work in a hotel and they compete with each other to serve a sexy actress who arrives at their place. This premise demanded an even stronger execution than it received. The movie is never particularly funny and most of its gags are just solid without ever moving into the great territory.

But the animation is strong, the pace is fittingly brisk and the movie has a lot of energy to it that made it so much fun to watch. Woody and Buzz have a terrific dynamic here and the highlight is the third act that featured the best and most imaginative gags of the bunch by far.

Belle Boys is a solid Woody and Buzz short that has a fine premise, strong animation and a terrific third act.

My Rating – 3.8
