Beep, Beep (1952)
Beep, Beep Review
Beep, Beep is a 1952 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a strong movie.
Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner both had gotten before and would later get better films, but this one is still very good. Its flaw is its uneven quality as some of the plans and action in the first half aren’t as memorable, but later on it becomes so much better and much more entertaining.
I particularly adored that water moment, that was hysterical. That sign that the Road Runner wrote to the coyote is bound to make you laugh how ridiculous it is. I also liked the skates sequence, and the final train scene is quite good. The animation here is stellar while the coyote is per usual very amusing to follow in his very bad plans that all go haywire.
Beep, Beep is uneven, but great in the second half. The water sign is absolutely hilarious.
