Alice’s Fishy Story (1924)
Alice’s Fishy Story Review
Alice’s Fishy Story is a 1924 animated short film from the Alice Comedies series. It’s a weaker short.
Alice and the gang hitch a ride to the local pond where they spend their time fishing. While there, she envisions what it would be like to go fishing at the North Pole. This movie is even worse than Alice’s western adventure. Once again, the live-action segment was better than the animated one, which was a big problem as these movies should have focused on animation first and foremost as a selling point.
Those moments at the beginning and ending were charming, but the animated segment was rough and uninteresting with the gags being crude and dated. The whole North Pole element was underutilized and Alice wasn’t particularly likable here. The animation is also lackluster this time around.
