Alice Gets Stage Struck is a 1925 animated short film from the Alice Comedies series. It’s a dated short.

While Alice and her gang are performing a play, she is knocked unconscious and dreams she is being chased by Pete across ice floes. This is another forgettable Alice Comedies short in a streak that was quite inferior during this particular period. The animation is stellar and the live-action segments are solid. I also liked Julius quite a bit and some of his moments are amusing.

But by this point in time the series became a Julius instead of Alice series as she gets sidelined once again. Maybe Walt did not like the new actress or he wanted to focus more on the animals in her story, but the overall quality of gags needs to be stronger to carry these animal-centric gags properly.

Alice Gets Stage Struck is well animated, but lacking in terms of memorable humor and plot.
