A-Hunting We Will Go (1932)
A-Hunting We Will Go Review
A-Hunting We Will Go is a 1932 animated short film from the Talkartoons series.
Koko and Bimbo overhear Betty singing about how much she wants a fur coat, so they go to bat animals to get fur for her. This movie is very funny. It lacked the more offbeat and strange imagery that you’d come to expect from this series, but in the comedy department it shined. The beginning was a lot of fun and Betty singing was great. The titular song is also very well utilized.
The middle section was somewhat forgettable and uninspired, but the conclusion was superb. They do not kill the animals, but actually strip them of their clothes. Betty ends up taking the fur back to them in that very funny ending that really worked. It was silly and cartoony in the best way possible.
