Heap Big Hepcat Review

Heap Big Hepcat Review

Heap Big Hepcat is a 1960 animated short film from the Woody Woodpecker series. It is a weak flick.

Looseface, a young Indian brave turned TV star, completes his role in a picture and is told to go home for a vacation. This is your standard stereotypical cartoon of its time that is, yes, quite racist. But I usually don’t complain about that stuff as all of us should watch it in the historical context.

The bigger problem here is that the movie simply did not work. Woody never mashed well with the western genre and their insistence to mix them all the time is odd to me. The plot here is very weak, the characterization slight and the gags absent. The animation is fine and so is the score, but otherwise it left a lot to be desired.

Heap Big Hepcat is a weak Woody Woodpecker flick that has a slim plot, poor characterization and a lack of humor overall.

My Rating – 3
