From A to Z-Z-Z-Z is a 1954 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very cute cartoon.
It’s about a boy who is so bored of his class in school that he dreams about various adventures. He takes every task that his teacher gives him to make a quest out of it. Thus, the movie is very relatable to anyone who remembers their childhood. This is how children act as the movie is hugely grounded in reality in portraying kids.
Obviously, the movie is repetitive in nature. I wanted more diversity in the dream sequences and the western one is obviously too timely. The teacher should have gotten a bigger role herself. Still, Ralph is so endearing and the entire short plays out as this very sweet film about the wonders of childhood.
From A to Z-Z-Z-Z is repetitive and flawed, but undeniably holding a lot of endearing qualities and a strong sense of the miracle of childhood.
