A Fly in the Pink is a 1971 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
A scientifically-enhanced fruit fly attacks the Pink Panther’s apples, so he decides to get rid of it. I have seen fly-centered shorts before from this series, which is why this one felt unnecessary and the case of been there, done that. It lacks memorable sequences and the humor isn’t great.
Pink is different here as his design has been slightly altered at this point. I like the design and thankfully it wasn’t changed too drastically. He’s great here and is the reason why the movie is pretty good at times. I loved the opening scene as for some reason I found it very funny how he brushed aside the fly news, and then quickly got to deal with the fly himself.
A Fly in the Pink has some fine moments and Pink is great, but the short is mostly familiar and far from great.
