Kiss Me Cat (1953)
Kiss Me Cat is a 1953 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid, but forgettable flick.
Horrified when he hears his master is threatening to get rid of Pussyfoot unless the kitten starts catching mice, Marc Anthony the bulldog tries to tutor his little charger into proper feline behavior. Marc Anthony is excellent here, I particularly liked him preventing his master from seeing what’s going on, that was the best scene. He steals the show throughout, and is such an underrated character.
However, the cat, though cute, is not that memorable otherwise, and the same goes for the mice. The animation is polished, though hardly remarkable, and the pacing is also slower. The entire cartoon is competent and solid, but hardly ever hilarious or clever in any way.
Kiss Me Cat benefits from excellent Marc Anthony, but otherwise the movie is not that funny or memorable.
