Tickled Pink (1968)
Tickled Pink is a 1968 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
Longing to have a pair of roller skates, the Pink Panther is given a magic pair that he can’t control by his fairy godmother. This is such a random magical concept that seemed, again, very out of ordinary for the series, but it did lead to a pretty solid, fun short overall. It doesn’t have any truly great scenes, but all are uniformly solid.
I liked the action on the roller skates, it was very well executed. I also really liked the entire third act, and in particular Pink is great here, and so endearing. The animation is excellent, and in particular the attention to detail in the scenes where he passed so many streets and shops is stupendous.
Tickled Pink is one of the better shorts of this year when it comes to this series. It’s far from great, but it’s very solid, fun and it looks great.
