A Fractured Leghorn (1950)
A Fractured Leghorn Review
A Fractured Leghorn is a 1950 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a solid flick.
Foghorn Leghorn and one cat both try to catch a worm and compete over it. He talks and talks constantly until the cat’s had enough and he slaps him with a trash can. That ending made this movie worthwhile. It was hilarious, the voice provided by Mel Blanc is excellent and the cat being so frustrated was amusing to watch.
Foghorn is also funny with his signature endless talking and berating the cat. It surely does have great dialogue and some fun scenes. However, the movie is repetitive in its action, very uninteresting in the whole worm business and it’s overall far from the excellence that I’d come to expect from this iconic character.
A Fractured Leghorn certainly has a great ending and good dialogue, but it’s repetitive in storytelling and action.
